lighted Artificial turf fields, will necessitate digging a hole in the
ground deep enough to support the capacity of people utilizing both at
the same time, since there will be night games, practices as well as
daytime activities when they overlap.

Placing a theater somewhere in the Downtown Area makes sense IF
creating a vibrant, magnetic downtown is as much a priority as it seems
to be, but having a potentially convertible theater complex in the City
which is currently vacant, shows that it makes no economic sense to
build another. Building a new theater downtown would complement the
01d Fire Station usage, but it would not be a good use at a time when
the former Coffee Roast Express is vacant.

8. Immediately Create the "Pleasanton Family Center"

The vacant "Coffee Roast Express" building on the corner by the Rose
Hotel should be leased by the City of Pleasanton as a "Pleasanton's
Family Meeting Center". Such a move would kill multiple birds with one
stone, providing a place for kids/teens and their families to read,
mix, eat, and get to know each other, as well as providing families
with affordable meals. Such a use would visibly demonstrate the City's
commitment to having an inexpensive place (as opposed to an elitist
atmosphere), where teams can have parties, classes can meet. The
Senior Center serves seniors. The proposed Youth/Teen Center will
serve that constituency. Having a facility where families can meet
would bring more people downtown. A facility wouldn't have to be
built. It would help out the families in Pleasanton who do not have
the means to eat out at the expensive restaurants, but bring them
downtown. The requirement would be that the City would have to be
interested in creating a win-win for everyone. It can start
immediately.

9. DO NOT move the train station to the Bernal Property

Approximately 90% of the people agree that the ACE train station should
not occupy the Bernal Property, and I agree. The most appropriate
location for a train station is the Fairgrounds location.

10. We don't want a "Sports Park South".

As the persons who mentioned that the Upper Field on Bernal has been
closed from October through April, due to rain and mud, anyone with
kids knows that the sports park is alternately either very crowded
(Saturdays), or very unused, and not much in between. It is the most
underutlized piece of developed real estate in the City because of
weather, and because it is only used by organized team activities
during particular hours.

Since the Bernal Upper Field is lighted, why not consider putting in
all weather turf there? This would relieve some of the pressure from
organized sports, but not all.

While we are at it, why not recognize that the Soccer Park at Val Vista
should have had turf to begin with, and make the field usable by
putting in Turf. It makes sense, doesn't it? Having a turf field by
the water processing plant at Val Vista, where nobody can see it, would
make more sense than ruining the ambiance at the "jewel" by putting in
many artificial turf fields.

Yet, having a large play structure, with water spraying water (like Val
Vista, yet without the murky pond), where kids can play, and where
parents can watch their older kids play soccer or baseball, will be a
nice feature for families.

11.
