· The aging population wants trails and continuous meadow for walking around.

· If you put the Civic Arts Center on the Bemal Avenue side you will block hillside views. The
City is beautiful. This space should left as open space.

· I wouldn't want parking lots in front of my house.

LARRY BURTO
· Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in America today. We hava 300 kids, both girls and
boys. We are critical to preparing these kids for high school lacrosse programs, but we only
have one to two fields to use.

· Also, we really see a lot value in having multiuse turf fields. We've had to give up games
because of rain. Our players are at a disadvantage because other teams have turf fields.

· Alternative D is best.

LINDA RHODES · We need to allow for as much sports facilities for all sports as possible.

· Also, an arts facility is an extremely important part of the parle I'm leaning more toward
having it away from the sports fields. You can't expect to have an open area amphitheater
surrounded by sports fields without any noise impacts. Lighted fields mean more games at
night.

· No train station in the middle of our precious jewel of a community park.

· Double the parking spaces provided.

JOHN SHERTLEFT
· Alternative D is the best. I'm the on board of the gids soccer team. We can barely get fields
for games and never for practice. Our teams are spilling into neighborhood parks. We only
have one lighted turf field. It's Iow quality and closed to us when we need it most.

JAMIE HINES
· If you place a train station next to a school there's "stranger danger" (the possibility of a lot
more strangers walking around the school) and possibility of a derailment.

· Moving the train station, takes it away from town and the fairgrounds, doesn't increase
parking, and costs more money. Currently, it's in a place where it seems to be meeting all
our needs.

· I don't think residents are aware of how much more noise a train makes in a station. When
a train has to stop at station it's required to whistle and make lot more noise than it would
moving through a neighborhood at night.

Bernal Property Town Meeting ISummaryReport-Ap~/l//,2005 Page 17
