<br />Resolution No. PC-92-89 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />As proposed, the applicants would not be modifying <br />the existing buildings, parking, landscaping, drive <br />aisles, or any other improvements in the Downtown <br />Center complex. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />That the proposed use will be <br />civic center character of <br />District. <br /> <br />compatible with the <br />the civic Overlay <br /> <br />The civic center area can be characterized by its <br />mix of commercial, office and residential uses. In <br />addition to the City's Library and administrative <br />offices, the civic center area currently contains <br />two residences, various retail stores, offices, <br />restaurants and other service establishments. The <br />proposed use would be compatible with these uses in <br />that it would provide a professionally-staffed <br />service establishment. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the <br />requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act <br />(CEQA); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning commission determined that the proposed <br />conditional use is compatible with the surrounding <br />neighborhood and will not detrimentally affect the <br />surrounding uses or properties. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />section 1. Approves Case UP-92-51, the application of Deborah <br />Bosse, Bernadine Rago, and Veronica Krell for a <br />conditional use permit to establish a therapeutic massage <br />studio located at 239 Main street, subject to the <br />conditions shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made <br />part of this case by reference. <br /> <br />section 2. This resolution shall become effective 15 days after <br />its passage and adoption unless appealed prior to that <br />time. <br />
