PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIPORNIA

RESOLUTION NO. PC-92-S9

RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AS PILED ONDER
CASE UP-92-S1 FOR DEBORAH BOSSE, BERNADINE RAGO, AND VERONICA
KRELL

WHEREAS, Deborah Bosse, Bernadine Rago, and Veronica Krell have
applied for a conditional use permit to establish a
therapeutic massage studio located at 239 Main street;
and

WHEREAS, zoning for the property is c-c (Central Commercial) Civic
Overlay, Downtown Revitalization District; and

WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of October 28, 1992,
the Planning commission considered all public testimony,
relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff
concerning this application; and

WHEREAS, the Planning commission made the following findings:

A. That the proposed location of the conditional use
is in accordance with the objectives of the zoning
ordinance and the purpose of the district in which
the site is located.

Some of the objectives of the zoning ordinance are
to: foster a harmonious, convenient, workable
relationship among land uses, protect existing land
uses from inharmonious influences and harmful
intrusions, and to insure that public and private
lands ultimately are used for the purposes which
are most appropriate and beneficial to the City as
a whole. Staff feels the proposed therapeutic
massage studio use would be consistent with these
objectives in that it would provide a service to
the community and would be conducted so as to not
impact or interfere with surrounding businesses.

The subject building is located in the C-C (Central
Commercial) Civic Overlay, Downtown Revitalization
District. Some purposes of the Downtown
Revitalization District are to: deter the
inappropriate demolition, destruction, alteration,
or misuse of architecturally interesting and
significant structures in the Downtown, revitalize
the economic growth and health of and foster civic
pride in the Downtown, and stabilize and enhance
the value of property.

,r
