THE CITY OF 6C <br />[ L£AS&NTON ¢ily Council <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> May 3, 2005 <br /> Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW OF <br /> BIDS, AND AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR <br /> FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION OF CITY GATEWAY <br /> SIGNAGE, PROJECT NO. 998043. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br /> meeting of May 3, 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br /> <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract for <br /> the subject project to Fluoresco Lighting and Signs Maintenance <br /> Corp. of Tucson, Arizona for a low bid of $99,349.92. <br /> <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above contract. <br /> <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Public Works to approve and execute <br /> contract change orders for a contingency amount not to exceed <br /> $9,935 (10% of construction bid), if necessary, for related project <br /> work. <br /> <br /> 5. Authorize the Director of Finance to transfer $25,000 from CIP <br /> No. 048051, Landscape Median Construction and Renovation, to <br /> cover the additional funding needed. <br /> <br />SR:05:108 <br />Page ! of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
