8. GEOLOGY, SOILS, GRADING AND DRAINAGE
8-1: Slope Stabilitv Analvses

As part of the requirements for issuance of the tentative map,
the geotechnical consultants shall conduct a series of slope
stability analyses for critical cut slopes, fill slopes, and
natural slopes, in order to determine their stability under
long-term static and short-term seismic loads. The analyses
must incorporate saturated, residual shear strength
parameters, as presented in the geotechnical report prepared
by Berlogar Geotechnical Consultants (1990), reasonable and
defensible groundwater level assumptions based on future
groundwater scenarios, and rational seismic coefficients
derived from the data presented in the geotechnical report.

8-2: Detailed Slope Stabilization proaram

As part of the tentative map submittal, all landslides and
areas with a high potential for slope instability shall be
categorized as to the potential effect on development. The
project geotechnical engineer and/or engineering geologist
should provide recommendations for stabilization of these
landslides. This shall include all landslides and potential
landslides on-site and all those landslides off-site that may
impact on-site development. This work should include
preparation of a detailed geologic map and performance of a
subsurface investigation within each area with a high
potential for future slope movement. This work is subject to
the peer review process per City standards.

8-3: Landslide Stabilization

A detailed construction plan shall be prepared for the
stabilization of all on-site landslides and potential
landslides, and all off-site landslides that may affect the
development or adjacent off-site developed areas, by the
project geotechnical engineer and/or engineering geologist.
The construction plans shall include detailed sections and
plans showing the limits of work along with detailed grading
specifications for performance of the stabilization work. All
landslides and potential landslides which could affect the
proposed development should be stabilized by the developer
before any of the individual lots are sold.

. ,

II .,

.
