<br />Finding: Mitigation Measures 8-11 and 8-12 Feasible and Required <br /> <br />The city finds that it is feasible to mitigate this impact to a <br />less-than-significant level by requ1r1ng the applicant and <br />successors in interest to incorporate the specific provisions of <br />Mitigation Measures 8-11 and 8-12 into the project design. The <br />applicant and successors in interest shall incorporate such <br />differential fill settlement impact reduction provisions into <br />project design as a "Condition of Approval" to the project. <br /> <br />Expansive soil <br /> <br />Impact: Potential structural damage from expansive soil <br /> <br />The city finds that the project may experience damage to structures <br />by earth movement from Changing soil moisture content (Draft EIR, <br />page 8-15). <br /> <br />proposed Mitigation Measures of the EIR <br /> <br />The EIR identified the following mitigation measures which would <br />substantially avoid this impact. <br /> <br />8-13 Evaluate for expansive soil and design structures to resist <br />soil movement (Draft EIR, page 8-15). Said mitigation measure <br />was considered and adopted with any pertinent changes in <br />Condition 8-13, Exhibit "B" of the planning commission staff <br />report dated May 27, 1992. <br /> <br />8-14 Design surface drainage system to control surface drainage to <br />reduce seasonal fluctuations in soil moisture content (Draft <br />EIR, page 8-15). Said mitigation measure was considered and <br />adopted with any pertinent changes in Condition 8-14, Exhibit <br />"B" of the planning Commission staff report dated May 27, <br />1992. <br /> <br />8-15 Follow appropriate construction procedures to avoid expansive <br />soil damage (Draft EIR, page 8-16).
