THE CITY OF ~11~4 <br />p L ii A TON: City Council <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> April 19, 2005 <br /> Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW OF <br /> BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR STONERIDGE MALL <br /> ROAD SIDEWALK, PROJECT NO. 995020 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the meet'rog <br /> of April 19, 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for the project. <br /> <br /> 2. Review the bids and award the contract for the subject project to Rosas <br /> Brothers Construction, for a low bid amount of $160,500. <br /> <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Rosas Brothers <br /> Construction. <br /> <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Public Works to approve and execute contract <br /> change orders for a contingency amount not to exceed $20,000. <br /> <br /> 5. Authorize interim funding for this project from the Street CIP General <br /> Fund, until the project is accepted by the City Council and reimbursement <br /> is made by Safeway Corporation pursuant to a Cost Reimbursement <br /> Agreement dated July 28, 1999. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: Bids have been received for the subject project and staff is recommending <br /> award of a construction contract to the low bidder, Rosas Brothers <br /> Construction, in the amount of $160,500. The project consists of the <br /> installation of sidewalk, access ramps and landscaping along the north side <br /> of Stoneridge Mall Road from Embarcadero Ct., north to the Safeway <br /> Corporate site. <br /> <br />SR:05:084 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
