It was developed in response to concerns about <br /> the lack of available transportation for senior residents no longer able to drive. The Junior <br /> Women's Club donated a 12 -passenger mini-bus to the City with the stipulation that the <br /> vehicle be used to provide flee transportation to seniors. In 1975, the Club donated a <br /> second bus. As r/dership increased, the City applied for and received funds fi.om <br /> Alameda County, enabling program expansion that evolved into the Pleasanton <br /> Paratransit Service. <br /> <br /> Today the Pleasanton Paratransit Service (PPS) provides transportation for <br /> Pleasanton/Sunol residents 60 years or older and to disabled residents of any age. <br /> Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) determines ADA eligibility for <br /> <br /> Page 2 of 15 <br /> <br /> <br />
