<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-95-57 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR THE <br />APPLICATION OF ESSENAR INVESTMENTS AND SAFEWAY COMPANY, <br />INC. FOR DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL, AS FILED UNDER CASE <br />Z-95-126 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Essenar Investments and Safeway Company, Inc. have <br />submitted an application for design review approval to <br />allow the demolition of approximately 62,200 square feet <br />of the existing Amador Center, including the existing <br />Safeway food store, the former Sprouse Reitz variety <br />store, and miscellaneous shops area, and to allow the <br />construction of a new Safeway food store and retail shops <br />totaling 70,000 square feet located at 1755 Santa Rita <br />Road; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of <br />Commission received <br />Case Z-95-126; and <br /> <br />August 23, 1995, the Planning <br />a proposed negative declaration for <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning Commission has received <br />Initial Study dated August 23, 1995, <br />recommendations of the staff; and <br /> <br />and reviewed the <br />and received the <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held at which time the <br />public was given the opportunity to comment on the <br />environmental impacts of the proposal; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the potential <br />impacts in accordance with the applicable state and local <br />guidelines governing the preparation of Negative <br />Declarations and Environmental Impact Reports; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning Commission finds <br />proposed project would not have <br />effects on the environment. <br /> <br />that approval of the <br />any significant adverse <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves the Negative Declaration prepared for Case <br />Z-95-126, the application of Essenar Investments and <br />Safeway Company, Inc., for design review approval to <br />allow the demolition of approximately 62,200 square feet <br />of the existing Amador Center, including the existing <br />Safeway store, the former Sprouse Reitz store, and <br />miscellaneous shops area, and to allow the construction <br />of a new Safeway store and retail shops totaling 70,000 <br />square feet located at 1755 Santa Rita Road. <br />
