I L£ ASA NTON CityCouncil <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> April 5, 2005 <br /> Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS RELATED TO THE <br /> 1-580 SMART CORRIDOR PROJECT - TRAFFIC SIGNAL <br /> SYSTEMS EQUIPMENT INCLUDING BATTERY BACKUP <br /> POWER SYSTEMS, VIDEO DETECTION SYSTEMS AND <br /> RELATED IMPROVEMENTS (CIP 005017) (FEDERAL PROJECT <br /> NUMBER CML-5101-013) <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at its <br /> meeting of April 5, 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for the subject project. <br /> <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the <br /> subject project. <br /> <br /> 3. Authorize final payment in the amount of $108,043.87 to Cornet <br /> Technology, Inc. <br /> <br /> 4. Authorize the City Clerk to release contractor's Certificate of <br /> Deposit 30 days after filing the Notice of Completion. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: Construction of the subject project is now complete and ready for <br /> acceptance. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On December 4, 2001, the City Council awarded a construction contract in the amount of <br />$2,090,005 for the 1-580 Smart Corridor Systems Contract to the most highly rated bidder, <br /> <br />SR:05:046 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
