pLE AS&NTON: City Council <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> April 5, 2005 <br /> Public Works Department <br /> <br /> SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE SIGNAL <br /> INSTALLATIONS AT FOOTHILL ROAD AT FOOTHILL HIGH <br /> SCHOOL PROJECT NO. 045054A <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br /> meeting of April 5, 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for the subject project. <br /> <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the <br /> subject project. <br /> <br /> 3. Authorize f'mal payment and payment of the retention in the <br /> amount of $18,759.28 to Mike Brown Electric Co. thirty days after <br /> filing the Notice of Completion. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: On May 4, 2004, the City Council approved the plans and specifications <br /> and awarded the contract for the subject project to Mike Brown Electric <br /> Co. for a low bid of $177,876.75. <br /> <br /> The project provided signalized access and egress to the student parking <br /> lot, and egress for the drop-off/pick-up loop at Foothill High School. <br /> This was accomplished by constructing a double signal at the two <br /> driveways with the two signals controlled by a single signal controller. <br /> <br /> The project, as described above, is complete and ready for acceptance. <br /> Staff recommends final payment and payment of the retention to Mike <br /> Brown Electric Co. in the amount of $18,759.28. <br /> <br />SR:05:087 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
