<br />4. Off-site reader board directional sie:n. An off-site reader board sign <br />advertising no more than four subdivisions, or four product types within one or <br />different subdivisions, or combinations thereof, may be erected subject to the <br />following criteria: <br /> <br />a. Design Standards. <br /> <br />i) The sign structure shall be constructed to the standard frame design <br />and materials indicated in this ordinance; <br />Ii) The sign structure shall not exceed ten feet (10') in height and shall be <br />single-faced; <br />iii) The ground within a three foot radius of the sign structure shall be <br />maintained in a manner to prevent weed growth under the structure; <br />iv) The horizontal dimension of the sign shall not exceed four feet (4') with <br />a total sign area not to exceed forty (40) square feet; <br />v) No more than four individual keyboard signs shall be installed on one <br />sign; <br />vi) Individual keyboard signs shall be 18" high by 48" long and shall be <br />consistent with the marketing colors used to advertise or identifY each <br />subdivision or product type; <br />vii) Individual keyboard lettering shall not exceed 10" and directional <br />arrows shall be no larger than 8" high and 18" long and shall be located <br />closest to the street right-ol-way; <br />viii) The lowest keyboard sign shall be two feet from grade. <br /> <br />b. Location. No more than one reader board sign shall be installed on anyone <br />parcel or property, and such signs shall be located no closer than 1,500 feet <br />apart. The locations of these signs typically shall be limited to the major <br />arterial streets within the City (as defined by the General Plan), unless <br />otherwise approved by the Zoning Administrator. <br /> <br />c. Implementation. <br /> <br />i) A reader board sign shall be located on private property, with the <br />applicant providing the written consent of the property-owner(s) at the time of <br />application; <br />Ii) Prior to Zoning Administrator approval, the applicant shall demonstrate <br />to the satisfaction of the City that lease arrangements have been secured with <br />developer representatives to utilize at least three of the keyboards for each <br />reader board sign for which an approval is sought. The Zoning Administrator <br />may delay the installation of any sign if sufficient interest or lease has not been <br />secured by the applicant; <br /> <br />RZ.94.06 <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br />Draft Ordinance <br />
