Gregg Buckley, 420 Division Street. He spoke at the fIrst hearing and stated at that time that
he was originally opposed to the Division Street project. However, none of his concerns
have materialized. He supports this project and wishes there were more parcels that could be
developed into such units. He feels the outside maintenance is the best in the neighborhood.

Harvey Kameny, 2832 Gray Fox Court, stated he has never seen a developer make as many
concessions to an adjacent property owner in order to get project approval. He serves on
Pleasanton's Housing Commission and knows that both Kottinger and Ridgeview Commons
have a two-three year waiting list. Pleasanton needs affordable senior housing, and he
knows of no other projects being planned for senior housing. He supports this project.

Wanda Dives, 443 Division Street, #29, lives in the Red Bear development and feels her
apartment is a delight. She feels this project is needed and she is in support.

Linda Hughes, 1530 Rose Lane, spoke as a member of the Housing Authority Board of
Commissioners, member of the Assisted Living Subcommittee and as someone who works
with senior citizens. She spoke in opposition at the first meeting, however, now she has
both pro and con opinions of the project. She is unsure whether her concerns fall under the
purview of the developer. She still has concern for how far a person would have to get to
the stairs or elevator in an emergency. She is also concerned about the Stanley Blvd.
specific area as it relates to the increased foot traffic generated by the seniors. There are no
sidewalks in this area, and she inquired if sidewalks are planned in this area. Ms. Hughes
also suggested that developers in the senior/affordable housing arena prove to staff that they
have the knowledge and/or consultants who will advise them in special needs projects. She
also commented that she hopes the City will not rubber stamp all projects because it is
politically correct to have affordable housing. She would want all projects to be critically
reviewed.

Commissioner Barker asked if the speaker recalled the 99% compliance rating. Ms. Hughes
advised that she did not. Ms. Hughes also stated she empathized with the adjacent property
owners regarding the higher density; however, she feels there is a great need for more senior
housing in Pleasanton.

Ray Oestreich, 443 Division, #23, stated he likes the Red Bear project very much, the people
living there are very nice, and he feels this project is needed in Pleasanton.

Commissioner Hovingh stated that at the last meeting Brant Wilcox was in support of this
project.

Dorian Glanville, 3069 Chardonnay, owns the five lots adjacent to the project. He noted that
the revised site plans do not reflect the decreased setbacks suggested by staff, which would
result in upper balconies being 12 feet from his property line. He stated the architecture of
his homes include both single and two-story elevations to create openness.
