MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

Commissioner McGuirk commented on the high level of neighborhood input on the proposed
AAAAA Rent-a-Space application of Mr. Knuppe. Mr. Swift stated he had met with Mr.
Knuppe and he is wanting to meet with and discuss this project with the neighbors.
Commissioner Hovingh asked that the conditions and description of the PUD be included in
the staff report of this application.

Commissioner Dove inquired why so much time is spent reviewing applications where the
proposed building is outside the building envelope. Commissioner Hovingh commented that
his experience is that there are many applicants who will test the system, and staff refers
these to the Planning Commission.

Chairman Lutz commented that the Human Services Commission discussed future
restructuring of City Commissions that will affect the Planning Commission. Commissioner
Dove noted that an attempt is being made to work out the responsibilities of the Housing
Authority and Human Services Commissions, as well as an attempt to combine the Housing
Authority with the Affordable Housing Commission.
