General
discussion revolved around the intent of the meeting and who was involved. Commissioner
Dove advised the Commissioners of the dates of the General Plan Steering Committee's final
meetings.

Commissioner Lutz would like the Commissioners to recollect what happened when the
School Board was last at the Planning Commission. The Commission voted unanimously to
not change the zoning because the School District had an option from a church to purchase
the parcel which would fall within the current zoning. The scenario has since changed and
has not been brought back before the Planning Commission.

Commissioner Dove noted that he dropped in at the Lai Lai Restaurant to see if the owner's
concerns had been addressed. The owner was very surprised by Commissioner Dove's visit,
and he did say his business had improved.

Chairman Wright stated the Chevron station at Owens and Hopyard has gasoline advertising
signs every six feet around the station.

Page 13

May 24, 1995

Planning Commission Minutes
