Mr. Goldsworthy advised that most cars are stored in the building until they are repaired and
delivered, moreover, all cars are moved inside the building for overnight storage.

Mr. Goldsworthy distributed a color board for the Commissioners to view.

Mr. Goldsworthy spoke to the deed restriction for a 70 foot setback from Washington Street
and a 30 foot setback along California. The need for the change in setbacks is that the
production line operations require certain building dimensions. Therefore, a change in the
70 foot setback was needed. To date, the applicants have received no complaints from any
adjoining property owners to change the setback. Once they have all the signed letters, they
will go forward on changing the setback.

Mr. Goldsworthy noted the applicants installed flowering trees to blend with existing
flowering trees. He also noted the applicants would prefer to plant some type of evergreen
tree to mitigate problems with falling leaves.

Responding to Commissioner Dove, Mr. Goldsworthy advised there is no equipment installed
on the roof. The 3~-inch parapet is a design element associated with the rear fire wall.

Responding to Chairman Wright, Mr. Goldsworthy stated the applicants agree with the staff
report and conditions of approval.

Regarding the building's trash enclosure, Mr. Goldsworthy advised that it is located behind
the fence enclosure and the applicant will wheel it out to the curb on trash pick-up day.

Regarding the building signage, Mr. Goldsworthy noted what is described is what is
currently utilized. The applicants would like to consult with a sign company and then
resubmit their signage plans to staff.

NrnUCHEARmGWASCWSED

A motion was made by Comm;..~ioner Barker, seconded by Commissioner Hovingh,
approving Case Z-9S-24, subject to the conditions of approval listed in Exhibit B.

ROLL CALL VOTE

AYES:
NOES:
ABSENT:
ABSTAIN:

Commissioners Hovingh, Lutz, Dove, Barker and Chairman Wright
None
Commissioner McGuirk
None

Resolution No. PC-9S-20 was entered approving Case Z-9S-24, as motioned.

Planning Commission Minutes

Page 4

March 22, 1995
