A motion was made by Commissioner Hovingh recommending the Human Services Commission appointment be for a six month time period, starting in January and July. Tbe Motion failed for lack of a second. A motion was made by Commissioner McGuirk, seconded by Chainnan Wright, recommending the Human Services Commission appointment be for a one year tenn, beginning in January of the calendar year, and ending in December of the same calendar year. COMMUNlCA TIONS There were none. 1Q. REFERRALS There were none. 11. MA TTERS FOR COMMISSION'S INFORMATION Commissioner McGuirk gave an overview of the Swimming Pool Task Force. The Task Force envisioned a typical swimming facility which would include a 50 meter pool, a dive pool, a recreational pool, and a tot play pool. Five sites were looked at: the San Francisco Water Property, Foothill High School, Amador Community Park, a site at the end of Stoneridge, and a site in Hacienda. The San Francisco Water Property and the Stoneridge sites were eliminated because of timing issues, and the Foothill site was determined to be too small an area. The two remaining sites are Hacienda and Amador Park. All construction and/or renovations are costing more than the $2.9 million allocation. Another question to be answered is whether to locate all of the facilities at one site, or locate the recreational facilities at Amador and the competitive swimming facility in Hacienda (or vice versa). 12.
