CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 05-011 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A LETTER <br /> OF INTENT TO CONTRIBUTE CITY OF PLEASANTON FUNDS FOR A TRI- <br /> VALLEY TRIANGLE TRAFFIC STUDY, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br /> MANAGER TO SIGN A FUTURE FUNDING AGREEMENT FOR THIS STUDY <br /> BUT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $58,000, AND TO ALLOCATE AN <br /> ADDITIONAL $17,000 FOR SUCH STUDY IF ADDITIONAL FUNDING, <br /> (BEYOND THE $58,000) IS NECESSARY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is impacted by traffic congestion along 1-580, 1-680 and <br /> Route 84; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Dublin and Livermore and unincorporated areas in Alameda County <br /> are also impacted by this congestion; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, several state highway projects and hundreds of millions of dollars in highway <br /> construction funding have been designated for these projects along these freeways <br /> and highways; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these highway projects and the order in which the projects are constructed could <br /> have significant impacts to local roadways in the Tri-Valley area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency has commissioned a Tri- <br /> Valley Traffic Study to prioritize and sequence these projects based on available <br /> funding and traffic impacts; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency has budgeted $400,000 for <br /> this Study; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Pleasanton, Dublin and Livermore have requested an expansion of the <br /> scope of the Study that will increase the cost of the Study by up to $175,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Congestion Management Agency is willing to expand the scope of the Study if <br /> the cities are willing to fund it. <br /> <br /> <br />
