<br />arborist to conduct a field inspection prior to issuance of grading permits to ensure that <br />all recommendations have been properly implemented. The arborist shall certify in <br />writing to the City that such recommendations have been followed. <br /> <br />30. No trees shall be removed other than those specifically desigoated for removal on the <br />approved plans or tree report. The applicant shall be responsible for the loss of any tree <br />not previously approved for removal. The applicant shall post cash, letter of credit, <br />certificate of deposit (CD), or other security satisfactory to the Planning Director in the <br />amount of $5,000 for each tree required to be preserved, up to a maximum of $25,000. <br />This cash bond or security shall be retained for one year following completion of <br />construction and shall be forfeited if the trees are removed, destroyed, or disfigured. For <br />trees that are removed, destroyed, or disfigured during construction, the applicant shall <br />pay a fine in the amount equal to the appraised value of the subject tree. If the fine based <br />on the appraised value ofthe tree(s) exceeds the bond amount, the applicant shall pay the <br />difference between the bond and the appraised value of the subject tree(s). <br /> <br />31. Prior to issuance of a building permit, the applicant shall pay the appraised value of all <br />trees to be removed and not replaced to the City's Urban Forestry Fund. <br /> <br />32. Protective chain link or securely staked nylon fencing shall be installed around the <br />existing trees to be saved during all construction activities. The location of said fencing <br />shall be subject to the review and approval of the Planning Director. In addition, the <br />following tree preservation methods shall be followed: <br /> <br />a. The applicant shall utilize its best efforts to locate any new utility trenches outside the <br />dripline of the trees to be saved. <br /> <br />b. No oil, gasoline, chemicals, or other harmful materials shall be deposited or disposed <br />within the dripline of the existing tree or in drainage channels, swales, or areas that <br />may lead to the dripline. <br /> <br />c. No signs, wires, or ropes shall be attached to the existing trees. <br /> <br />d. No stockpiling/storage of construction materials, fill, etc., shall take place underneath <br />or within 5' of the dripline of the existing trees. <br /> <br />e. No equipment or temporary structures shall be placed within or beneath the driplines <br />of the existing trees. <br /> <br />Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a stop-work order. <br /> <br />Landscaping and Irrigation System Design and Operation: <br /> <br />33. A final landscape plan and irrigation plan shall be submitted to and approved by the <br />Planning Director as part of the building permit plan set prior to issuance of an on-site <br />permit. Said landscape plan shall be consistent with the approved landscape plan plus <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />... <br />
