PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. PC-2004-51 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF CHRISTINA PETROSKY/p3 PARTY PLACE, FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT, AS FILED UNDER CASE PCUP-119 WHEREAS, Christina Petrosky/p3 Party Place, has applied for conditional use permit to operate a children's drop-off and activity center within an existing building located at 5688 Stoneridge Drive in Hacienda Plaza; and WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD-I/C-O (Plarmed Unit Development - Industrial/ Commercial-Office) District; and WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of August II, 2004, the Planning Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the City staff concerning this application; and WHEREAS, projects ofthis nature are categorically exempt from the requirements ofthe California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and WHEREAS, the Plarming Commission made the following findings: I. The proposed location of the conditional use is in accordance with the objectives of the zoning ordinance and the purpose of the district in which the site is located. The objectives of the zoning ordinance include fostering a harmonious, convenient, workable relationship among land uses; protecting existing land use from inharmonious influences and harmful intrusions; and insuring that public and private lands ultimately are used for the purposes which are most appropriate and beneficial to the City as a whole. As conditioned, the proposed children's drop-off and activity center would be consistent with these objectives. The site of the proposed use is located in the Hacienda Plaza shopping center, which permits a variety of commercial, personal service, and office uses. Establishing a children's drop-off and activity center in this shopping center would be in accordance with the purposes of the commercial zoning district to provide locations for services to residents of Pleasant on and the surrounding areas. Based on the applicant's statement of operations, it is unlikely that the use would have any negative impacts on the surrounding businesses and properties. The use permit for the children's drop-off and activity center would be in accordance with the objectives of the zoning district. Therefore, this finding can be made. '" . .
