Ms. Nerland requested clarification of Commissioner Fox's addition and inquired
whether she meant that the City should physically maintain historic buildings.
Commissioner Fox advised that the City should not take responsibility for maintaining
the historic buildings but that residents appreciate the historic nature of the City. She
would like the City to take steps to ensure that Pleasanton retains the atmosphere of a
small town, taking steps to preserve buildings of that age in perpetuity.
Chairperson Roberts advised that the third pazagraph under "Youth Facilities and
Services" on page 10 should be changed to read as follows: "Chairperson Roberts
expressed surprise that the Youth Commission listed all recreational items and that there
were no arts or other types of items listed in the proposal for the General Plan Update
V,...A, T,f.,..+.... Dl..., »
max.
The minutes were approved as corrected.
MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO
ADDRESS THE PLANNING COMMISSION ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS
NOT ALREADY ON THE AGENDA.
There were none.
4. REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA
Ms. Kline advised that Item 6.d., PDR-426, David Bo~stad, and Item 6.£, PUD-37, Ron
Winter, would be continued to the January 12, 2005 meeting.
Chairperson Roberts requested that Item 7 b. Discussion of Temnorarv and Permanent
Window Signs for Commercial Businesses be continued to a meeting after the holiday
season.
Commissioner Fox noted that she had received an e-mail from a resident and suggested
that the neighbors in California Reflections be notified of the window sign discussion
item because of their proximity to Stanley Business Park.
Ms. Nerland advised that the discussion addressed by this item was a Citywide issue.
She noted that it could be generally advertised in the newspaper as is done with other
Citywide items.
5. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION
There were none.
PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES, December 8, 2004 Page 2 of 19
