.-- Commissioner Maas expressed concern about the noise, and while it would be beneficial
to have a tenant in this site, it did not appear to her that they were doing much to the
building with the exception of landscaping.
Commissioner Arkin noted that he could not make the findings because of the neazby
residential neighborhood. He noted that he would not be able to support this application
and did not believe it was a compatible use.
Commissioner Sullivan agreed with Commissioner Arkin's assessment and expressed
concern about diesel fumes.
Chairperson Roberts expressed concern about the fairness of this issue and noted that the
Planning Commission approved the nearby homes, knowing that there were neazby
industrial uses.
Commissioner Maas noted that beeping trucks on Saturday morning were an unwelcome
intrusion but noted that she would like to see a tenant in this building. She felt that by
requiring later hours and prohibiting vehicle maintenance, it would be possible for her to
support this use.
Commissioner Maas moved to approve PCUP-109 as conditioned in the staff report,
with the modification that no maintenance or repair be allowed on the premises;
that the operating hours be changed to 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays and to
8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays; and that the applicant be required to repave the
parking lot within one year.
Commissioner Roberts seconded the motion.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Maas and Roberts.
NOES: Commissioners Arkin and Sullivan.
ABSTAIN: None.
ABSENT: Commissioners Fox and Kameny.
The motion did not carry, and, therefore, the project was deemed denied.
c.
