ORDINANCE N0. _238 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE COLLECTION, <br /> REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE AND REFUSE <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS tile proper sanitation of the Town of Pleasanton <br /> and the preservation of the health of the inhabitants thereof <br /> requires that an ordinance be enacted providing for the <br /> collection, removal and disposal of all refuse within the city <br /> limits; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL 0F THE TOWN OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section l. 00, DEFINITIONS. <br /> <br /> Section 1.01: Garbage shall mean animal and vegetable <br /> waste, provided that dried weeds, grass, and garden and lawn <br /> trimmings shall be considered rubbish. <br /> <br /> Section 1.02: Waste matter shall mean any non-combustibl~ <br />waste material or substance not defined as garbage. <br /> <br /> Section 1.03: Refuse shall mean all types of waste <br />materials as defined under the headings of "Garbage", "Rubbish" <br />and "Waste Matter". <br /> <br /> Section 1.04: Residential Unit shall mean any occu~oied <br />premise having bathroom or toilet, and kitchen plumbing <br />facilities, suitable for residential occupancy by a number of <br />oersons living together as a single family, including single <br />family dwellings, and each group of occupied rooms constitn~ting <br />living quarters for a single family in any duplex, triplex, ai~art- <br />ment, court or other multiple dwelling structure, but excluding <br />any living or sleeping quarters in hotels, apartments, rooming <br />houses, motels or auto courts ~here kitchen facilities ~re not <br />provided. <br /> <br /> Section 2: 00. GENERAL PROVISIONS. <br /> <br /> Section 2.01: REFUSE SERVICE. <br /> E~'~ch ane every residential unit and each and every <br />occupied hotel, apartment house, rooming house, motel or auto <br />court where kitchen facilities to individual units therein are <br />not Drovided, and each and every premise occupied for business, <br />commercial or industrial uses, shall have refuse service as <br />herein specified, and ~ charge shall be collected as per <br />schedule of rates hereinafter provided. <br /> <br /> Section 2.02: The CitF Administrator, or the Director <br />of Public Works, shall cause all buildings or structures <br />specified in Section 2.01 hereof ~'ithin the corporate limits <br />of the To~r~ of Pleasanton, to be visited from time to time, ~nd <br />the sP-nitary condition of said buildings or structures exan~ined <br /> <br /> -1- <br /> <br /> <br />
