(HOUSING ENABLED BY LOCAL <br />PARTNERSHIPS) PROGRAM AS PART OF THE FINANCING <br />PLAN FOR THE ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY AND APPROVAL <br />OF AN AGREEMENT WITH QUINT AND THIMMIG LLP, FOR <br />BOND COUNSEL SERVICES <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends the City Council take the following actions at the <br />meeting of March 15, 2005. <br /> <br />1. Adopt the attached resolution approving the submittal of an application <br /> to the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) for funding <br /> through the HELP program. <br /> <br />2. Approve the attached agreement with Quint & Thimmig LLP, for bond <br /> counsel services in anticipation of a tax-exempt borrowing for the <br /> assisted living project. <br /> <br />3. Authorize the City Manager to sign all documents related to the funding <br /> application and bond counsel services. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />This report describes the HELP (Housing Enabled by Local Partnerships) <br />program and the Notice of Funding Availability published by CalHFA in <br />February 2005. The report includes a recommendation to authorize staff to <br />prepare and submit a joint application for a $2,000,000 loan through the <br />HELP program to be used as part of the financing for the proposed assisted <br />living project at Sunol Blvd., and Junipero St. <br /> <br />SR 05:079 <br />Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
