SUMMARY: 5. Approve a contract amendment with M.A. Lindquist for an amount not to exceed an additional $380,000. 6. Approve a contract amendment with the Ransome Company for an amount not to exceed an additional $368,000. 7. Direct staff not to pursue the reorientation of the golf course driving range. This report provides an update of the Callippe Preserve Golf Course and Open Space Project. The status of various contracts and current actions to ensure a successful project are discussed. Also included is an update of project costs, including a breakdown of the various components of this multi-faceted project. Staff is requesting numerous actions, including the appropriation of approximately $1 million in interest earnings on project funds, and the transfer of an additional $1.2 million to the project. In addition, staff is requesting approval of a potential loan from the Water Fund to temporarily provide cash flow of up to $5 million, until reimbursements are collected at the time of sale of the first 24 private lots that benefited from infrastructure improvements to the site. Because the cost to reorient the driving range is significant, staff believes the driving range should not be reoriented. Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: OVERVIEW The Project The Callippe Preserve Golf Course and Open Space project has three major components: (1) Golf Course and Facilities (2) Open Space/Parkland and Trails, and (3) Infrastructure. The three components are detailed here, highlighting the amenities offered: (1) Golf Course and Facilities: 18-hole, 6,800 yard, par 72 municipal facility situated on 145 acres Five sets of tee boxes offering a range of playing experiences from beginner to pro 7,400 square-foot ranch style clubhouse with seating for 50 indoors and 140 outdoors on a deck overlooking the 1st, 10th and 18th holes A fireside meeting room with items memorializing Randy Lum 4,700 square-foot cart storage building SR:05:068 Page 2
