Direct staff not to pursue the reorientation of the golf course driving
range.

This report provides an update of the Callippe Preserve Golf Course and
Open Space Project. The status of various contracts and current actions to
ensure a successful project are discussed. Also included is an update of
project costs, including a breakdown of the various components of this
multi-faceted project. Staff is requesting numerous actions, including the
appropriation of approximately $1 million in interest earnings on project
funds, and the transfer of an additional $1.2 million to the project. In
addition, staff is requesting approval of a potential loan from the Water Fund
to temporarily provide cash flow of up to $5 million, until reimbursements
are collected at the time of sale of the first 24 private lots that benefited from
infrastructure improvements to the site. Because the cost to reorient the
driving range is significant, staff believes the driving range should not be
reoriented.

Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council:
OVERVIEW

The Project

The Callippe Preserve Golf Course and Open Space project has three major components: (1)
Golf Course and Facilities (2) Open Space/Parkland and Trails, and (3) Infrastructure.
