Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Counc//: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The subject project was authorized under the FY 2004/2005 Capital Improvement <br />Program. The funding source is the Streets General Fund. The project consists of the <br />removal and replacement of approximately 2,957 square feet of sidewalk and driveway, <br />2,550 linear feet of curb and gutter and 40 linear feet of pipe for curb through drains <br />throughout the City of Pleasanton. The purpose of this project is to improve drainage and <br />pedestrian safety. <br /> <br />BIDS <br /> <br />Sealed bids for this project were opened on February 24, 2005. There were a total of six <br />bids, which ranged from $96,447.50 to $165,727.34. The engineer's estimate was <br />$95,250.
