THE CITY OF <br /> <br />I>L£AS&NTON. <br /> <br />4H <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br /> March 15, 2005 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW OF <br />BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR ANNUAL <br />SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE, PROJECT NO. 045012 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at <br />the meeting of March 15, 2005: <br /> <br />1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br /> <br />Review the bids and award the contract for the subject project to <br />Rosas Brothers Construction, for a low bid amount of <br />$96,447.50. <br /> <br />3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Rosas <br /> Brothers Construction. <br /> <br />4. Authorize the Director of Public Works to approve and execute <br /> contract change orders for a contingency amount not-to-exceed <br /> $14,466.50. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Bids have been received for the subject project and staff is <br />recommending award of a construction contract to the low bidder, <br />Rosas Brothers Construction, in the amount of $96,447.50. The <br />subject project consists of the removal and replacement of damaged <br />curb, gutter, sidewalk and driveway approach slabs citywide. <br /> <br />SR:05:076 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
