THE CITY OF <br /> <br />pL£AS&NTON <br /> <br />4D <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br /> March 15, 2005 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO THE DESIGN CONTRACT WITH TETRA <br />TECH INCORPORATED FOR SANTOS RANCH ROAD PUMP <br />STATIONS AND WATER FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS, <br />PROJECT NO. 991035 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br />meeting of March 15, 2005: <br /> <br />1. Approve the attached professional services contract amendment. <br /> <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached contract <br />Amendment with Tetra Tech Inc. <br /> <br />Approve the expenditure of an additional $215,160 from the <br />available budgeted project funds for the subject contract <br />amendment. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Amendment No. 4 of the Tetra Tech professional services contract, in the <br />amount of $215,160, provides for the redesign of Santos Ranch Pump <br />Stations to incorporate previous recommendations to reduce the project's <br />overall construction costs. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Cotmcil: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On February 15, 2005 City Council evaluated several alternatives for the maintenance and <br />refurbishmem of the three existing water pump stations (Station 500, 900 and 1300) along <br />Santos Ranch Road.
