pL£AS&NTON City Council <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> March 1, 2005 <br /> Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO THE REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT WITH <br /> GREENBRIAR HOMES COMMUNITIES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br /> OF INFRASTRUCTURE RELATED TO THE REALIGNMENT OF <br /> VINEYARD AVENUE <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the meeting <br /> of March 1, 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Approve the attached Amendment No. 1 to the Reimbursement Agreement <br /> with Greenbriar Homes Communities (Exhibit "A") for the cost of <br /> constructing infrastructure for realignment of Vineyard Avenue, including <br /> the cost of consulting engineering services in support of construction <br /> activities, and appropriating $770,000 from the Vineyard Avenue Corridor <br /> Specific Plan fee account for this purpose. <br /> <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to sign the amendment. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: The City Council and the Pleasanton Unified School District had expressed an <br /> interest in completing the realignment of Vineyard Avenue as proposed in the <br /> Vineyard Avenue Corridor Specific Plan in advance o£ residential d, evelopment <br /> within the Specific Plan area. Early completion of the Vineyard Avenue <br /> realignment was intended to facilitate construction of the Neal Elementary <br /> School within the Vineyard Avenue Corridor Specific Plan area and to facilitate <br /> the alignment for the new 230kV underground transmission line by PG&E <br /> along the northerly edge of the roadway. <br /> <br /> Previously, the City Council has approved agreements with Greenbriar <br /> Communities Homes by which Greenbriar would coordinate the construction of <br /> the infrastructure improvements for the realignment o£ Vineyard Avenue and, in <br /> turn, be reimbursed, primarily from funds from the Pleasanton Unified School <br /> District ($4.16 M).
