<br />. 6. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />5. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />There were none. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />a. UP-96-70. Pam Danforth and Jane Perkins <br />Application for a conditional use pennit to operate a massage therapy office located at 1811 <br />Santa Rita Road, Suite 207. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - C <br />(Commercial) District. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson presented the staff report on the application for a conditional use permit to operate a <br />massage therapy office at 1811 Santa Rita Road. One of the applicants has been operating a massage <br />therapy business at this location without a conditional use permit. When this error was discovered, <br />Ms. Danforth quickly applied for the necessary conditional use permit. <br /> <br />The Plaza Professional Office Building has a variety of office uses including another massage <br />therapist. Both of the applicants would be sharing the office space; however, they will be working <br />different hours. The business hours are 9 am to 9 pm, Monday through Saturday. <br /> <br />Staff has not experienced any problems with these applicants or other therapeutic massage businesses <br />in other retail centers. Staff feels this use is appropriate for the area. The applicants have received <br />their police permit. Sufficient parking is available. <br /> <br />Staff feels the use permit findings can be made and recommends approval subject to the conditions <br />of approval in Exhibit B. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />Jane Perkins represented her application for a conditional use permit and noted that they have read <br />the staff report and agree to the conditions of approval. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Commissioner Lutz motioned, seconded by Commissioner Cooper, making the required <br />conditional use permit findings and approving Case UP-96-70, subject to the conditions listed <br />in Exhibit B. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Commissioners Cooper, Lutz, McGuirk, Wright and Chair Barker <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Resolution No. PC 96-86 was entered approviDg Case UP-96-70, as motioned. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />November 20, 1996 <br />
