.

.

.

PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED

Chair Barker questioned whether the City should be tied to another five years with both of these
Development Agreements.

Commissioner Wright motioned, seconded by Commissioner Cooper, finding that the proposed
Wells Fargo development agreement is in conformance with the General Plan.

ROLL CALL VOTE

AYES:
NOES:
ABSENT:
ABSTAIN:

Commissioners Cooper, McGuirk, Lutz, Wright and Chair Barker
None
None
None

Resolution No. PC 96-91 was entered finding that the Wells Fargo development agreement is
in confonnance with the General Plan, as motioned.

Commissioner Wright motioned, seconded by Commissioner Cooper, recommending approval
of the three agreements - the five year extension, reimbursement clarifications, and development
deferment agreement for Wells Fargo.

ROLL CALL VOTE

AYES:
NOES:
ABSENT:
ABSTAIN:

Commissioners Cooper, Lutz, McGuirk, Wright and Chair Barker
None
None
None

Resolution No. PC 96-92 was entered approving the three development agreements for Wells
Fargo, as motioned.

Further discussion on the Taubman Development Agreement:

Commissioner Wright stated he has concern with adding more parking structures to the mall,
therefore, he cannot support the additional 222,000 square footage in development.

Commissioner McGuirk sees Stoneridge as a regional shopping center benefiting Pleasanton.
Breaking up the additional 222,000 square feet in smaller pieces doesn't seem as bad as the whole.
He likes the parking structure that is partially hidden, but does not like the idea of a three story
parking structure. He feels Stoneridge needs to grow and develop as retail changes. It is a matter
of keeping up with the trend, so let's prepare for it now, He will support the agreement.

Commissioner Cooper would rather have Taubman Company come back when they have something
more specific to be done with the 222,000 square feet. He would accept the agreement without the
addition of the 222,000 square footage.

Planning Commission Minutes

Page 13

November 20, 1996
