. . . Staff feels it would be preferable to add a sidewalk from the parking lot to the Johnson Drive intersection. If the single-story building is used for a pedestrian-use, sidewalk is to be installed along that portion of the site. The applicant is in agreement with this. Staff is requesting Condition 6 be modified to include a top cap treatment on the pilasters and will work with the applicant with the design; it does not have to be a soldier course, as is presently stated in the Condition. Staff feels the building is nicely designed, is an attractive addition to the business park, and recommends approval of the application, subject to the modification of Condition 6. In response to Commissioner Barker, Mr. Iserson advised that if the West Las Positas interchange is not approved, the conditions do not have to be implemented. These conditions cannot require the applicants to other traffic mitigation measures. PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED Stephen Fee, 320 Taylor Avenue, Alameda, stated they are in agreement with all the conditions. PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED Commissioner Hovingh motioned, seconded by Commissioner McGuirk, approving PUD-80-16-10D subject to the conditions listed in Exhibit B, Draft Conditions of Approval, with the following modification: Condition 6: As noted per staff. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS Commissioner Wright noted that Paseo Santa Cruz has become the street to park cars that are for sale. Commissioner Dove commented that the golf ball man was at the Farmer's Market Saturday. He suggested that at some future meeting the Commission should talk about what should be done when people defy City regulations.
