MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

Commissioner Wright reported that at 2783 Calle Allegre there has been a 20 foot boat on
the street for many weeks.

Commissioner Barker advised that she is hearing that in-line skating people are asking to
have in-line skating hours at the skateboard park until the in-line skate park is constructed.
She also thinks it is interesting that the skateboard park is starting to be used by families with
small children. Commissioner Wright also noted that he has observed that 80% of the kids
were using helmets. Commissioner Hovingh, however, reported that he has observed the
park when no one was using protective helmets.

Chairman Lutz reported that at a vacant lot at the comer of Del Sol and Bevilacqua the soil
has washed over the sidewalk creating a public hazard. Staff will investigate who is the
owner of the lot.

The atrium window at the Exxon Station (Z-95-257) was discussed. This is a walk-up
window serving coffee at the gas station, and staff felt it was a small enough change not to
require Planning Commission review. The past coffee establishments involved drive-up
windows which required Commission approval of a conditional use permit.

Commissioner Hovingh reported that at Caffino, January 8th, 7:30 am, Ford sedan, license
3ACN529 and Ford truck license 5E19227 blocked the right hand lane because of making
illegal right-hand turns. Mr. Iserson stated that the Caffino signs were to be installed the day
of the meeting. Commissioner Hovingh would like the situation watched and possibly revoke
their conditional use permit for public health and safety reasons.

Commissioner Hovingh again advised that large trucks are using West Las Positas and
requested that no trucks be allowed on Foothill south of Stoneridge; he is concerned with the
generation of noise in the neighborhoods. General discussion ensued concerning truck
routes, ttucks being allowed on Pleasanton streets if they are making deliveries in the area,
and the difficulty of. police enforcement. A letter will be written to the Truck Driving
School asking their eooperation for not driving in the residential neighborhoods.

Planning Commission Minutes

Page 8

January 10, 1996
