pL£AShNTON city <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> February 15, 2005 <br /> Planning Department <br /> Parks and Community Services Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: BERNAL COMMUNITY PARK MASTER PLAN REVIEW PROCESS <br /> <br />PURPOSE: For the Council to establish a public review process for the recently revised 50- <br /> acre Bemal Community Park Master Plan <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> That the City Council approve the Option 1 process for reviewing the 50-acre <br /> Community Park Master Plan. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br /> The Draft Bernal Community Park Master Plan was recently updated by the City's <br /> Bemal Property site planner, M.D. Fotheringham, Landscape Architects (MDF). <br /> The update reflects numerous community, commission and Council comments on <br /> the previous Draft Master Plans, as well as from various design aspects of the MDF <br /> Design Competition Plan. Now that the Draft has been updated it would be timely <br /> to proceed with the community review process. The following report provides <br /> background information regarding the on-going Bernal Property planning activities <br /> and presents Council options for establishing the public review process for the <br /> Draft Community Park Master Plan. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Planning of the 318-acre City-owned portion of the Bernal Property has been an on-going <br />process for the past four years.
