· Laptop Computer for YCSB/DARE ($2000) <br /> <br /> This item will provide a laptop computer to the Youth and Community Services Bureau (DARE, Crime <br /> Prevention, Teen Academy, Citizen's Academy) that will be used to support the unit's responsibilities <br /> and facilitate community service and training presentations to local businesses, private citizens and at <br /> school venues. <br /> <br /> · Total Station Survey Equipment ($10,100) <br /> <br /> This equipment includes hardware and software that will be used to measure and diagram collision and <br /> crime scenes in 3D, creating a more accurate depiction of the incident. In addition, it will save time <br /> during traffic accident investigations by enabling pre-diagramming of high collision rate intersections. <br /> <br /> · Two Digital Cameras for Patrol ($2000) <br /> <br /> This equipment is intended to support the needs of the Operations Division for still photography related <br /> to the collection of evidence. These funds will purchase two digital still cameras. <br /> <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br /> Through this program the State of California provides supplemental funding to municipal law <br /> enforcement agencies. There is no requirement for matching funds. We recommend that the <br /> Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to fund these recommendations for the <br /> 2004/2005 through the use of the COPS appropriation. <br /> <br />lly Submitted, <br />Timothy P.
