Mr. Iserson <br />advised the Commission that staff did not intend for the cement wall to be a requirement, but <br />rather was a suggestion, and that he would remove that language from the condition. A more <br />detailed discussion took place comparing the conditions of the original and the amendment to <br />2.5. <br /> <br />Mark Lauer, 2040 Olivia Court, Pleasanton, advised the Commission that he intends to build <br />a family home on Lot 2 and that he already has floor plans which have his garage facing Trenery <br />Drive. He noted that it would be a major inconvenience to be forced to change them at this <br />point. He would like to see condition 2.5 modified to allow garages to face Trenery Drive and <br />to have them screened by vegetation. Commissioner Barker suggested that an exception be made <br />for Mr. Lauer's lot. A lengthy discussion and question and answer session took place regarding <br />condition 2.5. <br /> <br />Al Wiemken, 3737 Trenery Drive, Pleasanton, noted that he redesigned Trenery Drive and that <br />it is now 20 feet wide with no on-street parking and no sidewalks. He further stated that many <br />years ago he was able to change the direction of the homes on Martin A venue and Moore <br />Avenue in order to prevent walls from being constructed to screen the garages. He, therefore, <br />does not want to have any walls going up in the new development. A discussion regarding the <br />street took place. Mr. Wiemken stated that he supports the application. <br /> <br />Chair Cooper asked Mrs. Lauer whether she would agree to have condition 2.5 modified to state <br />that garages cannot face Martin Avenue and she agreed. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Commissioner Lutz stated that he supports that application and would agree to modify condition <br />2.5 to state that no garage can face Martin Avenue. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wright agrees with Commissioner Lutz and stated that the guidelines will assure <br />that the process moves smoothly. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS REOPENED <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauer advised the Commission that garages for lots 3 and 6 present a problem, and <br />questioned whether condition 2.5 could be eliminated because, at this point, she is not sure how <br />the homes will be designed. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Planning Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />November 19, 1997 <br />
