THE CITY OF <br /> <br />pL£ASANTON. <br /> <br />6A <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br /> February 1, 2005 <br />Planning Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />COUNCIL DIRECTION REGARDING FIVE SITE PLAN <br />ALTERNATIVES FOR THE "CENTRAL AREA" OF THE 318-ACRE <br />CITY-OWNED BERNAL PROPERTY PHASE II SPECIFIC PLAN <br /> <br />PURPOSE: To receive public input and Council direction regarding site plan alternatives for <br /> the "Central Area" of Bernal Property Phase II Specific Plan. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the Council: <br /> <br />1. Provide input to staffwith regard to the primary planning elements (land <br /> use, site location, parking, vehicular access, noise, views, etc.) for to the <br /> five site plan alternatives. <br />2. Direct staff to forward the resulting Unified Concept Plan to the Civic <br /> Arts, Youth, Parks and Recreation, and Planning Commissions for <br /> comments prior to returning to the Council for further direction. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />On January 4, 2005, the Council received staff and consultant presentations <br />regarding: (1) the status of the Draft Bernal Property Phase II Specific Plan Update <br />process, and (2) five site plan alternatives for the "Central Area" of the Phase II <br />Plan. The Council accepted the status report and requested that staff return with <br />further information relating primarily to the potential Cultural Arts Center. The <br />meeting was then continued to February 1, 2005 for further Council discussion and <br />direction. <br /> <br />SR 05:028 Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
