Steve Otto

From: MtLAGROS5@aoi.com
Sent: Thursday, December 30, 2004 3:23 PM
To: Steve Otto
Cc: marikennard@yahoo.com

Subject: Marl Kennard's Pub Request

Dear Steve,
I am writing on behalf of Mad Kennard in regard to her attempt to open an English pub in Downtown Pieasanton. My husband
and I have made the trek to Danville on several occasions to patronize The Crown since it originally opened. On other
occasions, I have chosen the same pub as a great meeting place for my girlfriends to meet and enjoy each other's company in
a stress-free, clean, and invitingly warm ambience.

Rarely can anyone go to an establishment nowadays and enjoy the depth of diverse pleasures Ms. Kennard affords her
patrons. Besides meticulously selecting culinary fineries from The British Isles that diners find delicious and addicting (try the
fish and chips - a personal favorite!), Ms. Kennard does her utmost to ensure prompt and courteous service to every individual
who comes into the eatery. Her entire staff is polite and respectful, no matter if the patron is young, old, male, female, eating
alone, dining with a large group, etc. I can finger point several establishments in Pleasanton that cannot share that
nondiscriminatory claim..

My son and his friends have enjoyed a variety of musicians which Ms. Kennard arranges to book for her patrons' pleasure. How
wonderful there is a place that offers a bit of anything and everything to every individual; how sad that it has to be located up in
Danville, rather than in our own town. Whether a night of relaxing music or an afternoon high tea is desired, her pub caters to
providing a variety of eating experiences and social enjoyments.

I personally recommend with the strongest of enthusiasm that the town of Pleasanton embrace Ms. Kennard and her proffered
establishment. She brings style, class, and propriety in every area of her business relationships. Not only would I enjoy
patronizing her establishment, I believe quite a few others will, as well, as a welcome respite from the noisy atmosphere of
some of the Main Street eateries.

If I can give further testimony on Ms. Kennard's behalf, please feel free to contact me at (925) 719-0719.

Regards,
Margie McLaughlin

2468 Via de Los Milagros
Pleasanton, CA 94566
email: M!LAGROSS@aol.com

12/30/2004
