The City is being short-sighted in not considering the increased public services costs <br />of promoting alcohol consumplion, especially late al night. Since Pleasanton's <br />monlhly "Wednesday Nighf' events have starled, lhe drinking of alcohol in public <br />has increased on SI. Mary Street: <br />- empty {or not) glass bott}es and cans discarded in fronl of residences <br />- loud "conversations" on the sidewalk in fronl of our home late at nighl <br />- defecated on our drivewa) <br />- drunk driver crashed into a car parked in front of our home <br /> <br />Downtown restaurants approved Io serve alcohol until 1:00 am (Stacey's,Blue <br />Agave. Femando's and Hap's) are usually closed by 10:00 PM. and show little <br />demand for another late night business of this kind. <br /> <br />Therefore we are requesting lhat lhe Git> Council reconsider the decision made by the <br />Planning Commission to approve PCUP-129, Mart Kennard's application to open the. <br />Oddfellows British Pub and Restaurant at 336 St. Mary Street.
