defined by BAAQMD as an essential public service). The City, in partnership with Pleasanton
Garbage Service, has submitted an application for $31,500 in funding for three vehicles. The
allocation amount is based on a set formula provided in the application of $10,500 per device.
The process for submitting an application includes providing a resolution indicating a desire to
participate in the program. The attached resolution is for consideration by the City Council.

Fiscal Impact

It is anticipated that no general fund expenditure or allocation will be applied to this project.
Should the City receive approval of the application by BAAQMD, the refuse fleet operator
(PGS) would then purchase the technology that has the maximum emission reduction and the
City would enter into a contract with BAAQMD to allow for the reimbursement of the
incremental costs that had been identified in the application. After completion of the retrofit, the
fleet operator would invoice the City for the costs and the City would invoice BAAQMD for
reimbursement.

Respectfully Submitted,

Assistant to the City Manager

Sue Rossi
Finance Director

Nelson Fialho
City Manager

SR:05:022
