IN'I~{E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF AIAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 296 An Ordinance of the City of Pleasanton, Establishing a Sewer Service or Rental Charge ~ Fixing R~ si~ential, commercial, and Industrial Rates; Making Sewer Con- nection Mandatory; Providing for the Billing, Collectio~ and Enforcement of Said Charges; and Setting the Effective Date Thereof. rl~e City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1. PURPOSE: The purpose of this ordinance is to provide revenue for the operation, maintenance and retirement of general obligation bonds in connection ~ith the City Sewage Treatment Plant, mains and facilities. ~]ection 2. AUTHORITY: This ordinance is adopted pursuant to the authority granted general law cities in Section 38900, C~vernment Code of the State of California. Section 3. DEFINITIONS: The rules, regulations and charges set forth for the managemenL and use of the City sewer facilities are hereby prescribed, and the ~,,~ords used in this ordinsmce shall have the meanings defined below, unless the context clearly indicates a different meaning, to wit: ('~t) City: "City'~ means the City of Pleasanton. (b) ~ewer Facilities: "Sewer Facilities" means and includes the sanitary sewerage collection~ disposal and treatment system of the City an8. all appurten- o. nces thereto and portions thereof. (c) Charge: "Charge'~ means the rental of other charge established by this ordinance for services and facilities ikLrnished by City to any premises in connection with the operation of its sewer facilities. (C.) Occupant: :~Occupant" means and includes any individual, firm, corporation or other organization owning, renting or leasing any premise. ~ection 4. CF~RGES: The following monthly charges are hereby established for sewage services and sewer facilities furnished by the City. (~,) Residential Unit: $1.25. per month. (b) Sleeping units without kitchen facilities: $.50 per unit per month. (c) Offices and light commercial establishments, without cooking facilities~ bar facilities or heavy water uses: $1-25 per month.
