Resolution No. PC-96-41
Page 2

Installation of the antenna extension and construction of the equipment
building is required to abide by the requirements of the Uniform Building
Code. The antenna extension on an existing monopole is considered to
have an insignificant visual impact on surrounding properties and,
therefore, would not be detrimental to the public health, safety, and
welfare.

C. The proposed conditional use will comply with each of the applicable
provisions of this chapter.

The proposed conditional use is required to comply with all applicable
sections of the Pleasanton Municipal Code governing properties zoned
Service Commercial. Conditions for the construction of the cellular
telephone antenna to ensure its compliance with the City's zoning
ordinance and objectives are included in the Conditions of Approval. By
complying with the recommended conditions of approval, the cellular
telephone antenna and equipment building would meet the criteria for
receiving a conditional use permit and would, therefore, comply with the
intent of the zoning ordinance.

WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the requirements of the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the proposed conditional use and the
proposed project are appropriate for the site.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING:

Section 1.

Approves Case UP-95-80/Z-95-255, the application of GTE MobilnetlTEA Group
for a conditional use permit and design review approval to allow the construction
and operation of a cellular communications facility involving the addition of a
10' 0" tall transmission/receiving antenna extension to the existing Cellular One
monopole, raising the monopole's height from 75' 0" to 85' 0", and construction of
an approximately 240 square foot unmanned equipment building located at 3830
Old Santa Rita Road, subject to the conditions shown in Exhibit "B," attached
hereto and made part of this case by reference.

Section 2.

This resolution shall become effective 15 days after its passage and adoption
unless appealed prior to that time.
