<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-96-41 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF GTE MOBILNET/TEA <br />GROUP FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AND DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL, <br />AS FILED UNDER CASE UP-95-80/Z-95-255 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, GTE MobilnetlTEA Group has applied for a conditional use permit and design <br />review approval to allow the construction and operation of a cellular <br />communications facility involving the addition of a 10' 0" tall <br />transmission/receiving antenna extension to the existing Cellular One monopole, <br />raising the monopole's height from 75' 0" to 85' 0", and construction of an <br />approximately 240 square foot unmanned equipment building located at 3830 Old <br />Santa Rita Road; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is C-S (Service Commercial) District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of June 12, 1996, the Planning Commission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings: <br /> <br />A. The proposed location of the conditional use is in accordance with the <br />objectives of the zoning ordinance and the purpose of the district in which <br />the site is located. <br /> <br />The site is zoned C-S Service Commercial. Public utility installations <br />including cellular communication monopoles, antennas, and equipment <br />buildings are conditionally allowed uses in this zoning district. In the <br />context of the surrounding area, characterized by other conditionally <br />allowed C-S type uses, e.g., automotive sales and storage, wrecking yards, <br />automotive repair, etc., cellular communication facilities can be found to <br />be consistent with this zoning district. <br /> <br />B. The proposed location of the conditional use and the conditions under <br />which it would be operated or maintained will not be detrimental to the <br />public health, safety, or welfare, or materially injurious to the properties or <br />improvements in the vicinity. <br />
