<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-97-52 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF <br />PROVIDIAN BANCORP, TO MODIFY THE APPROVED PUD PLAN AND FOR <br />DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL, AS FILED UNDER CASE PUD-80-16-10M AND <br />PUD-80-16-17D <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Providian BanCorp has applied for a modification to the approved PUD plan for <br />the Providian BanCorp development to increase the allowed floor area for its fifth, <br />unbuilt building from 40,000 square feet to approximately 57,461 square feet, and <br />for PUD design review approval of the proposed building's design, located in the <br />Signature Center Business Park defined by Franklin and Johnson Drives; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (planned Unit Development) - I1C-O <br />(Industrial/Commercial-Office) District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed project is covered by the existing Negative Declaration previously <br />approved by the City Council for PUD-80-16-3M; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing ofJune 11, 1997, the Planning Commission, <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the City <br />staff concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings: <br /> <br />1. The proposed development plan modification is in the best interests of the public <br />health, safety, and general welfare: <br /> <br />Full public street infrastructure including public streets, sidewalks, and utilities <br />are present to serve the proposed development on this site. All on-site <br />infrastructure is in place. If cross-traffic on Franklin Drive leads to significant <br />queuing problems at the driveway entrances for the existing and proposed <br />developments on this street, Providian will install a two-way left-turn on Franklin <br />Drive between Morse Drive and Johnson Drive. <br /> <br />2. The proposed development plan modification is consistent with the Pleasanton <br />General Plan: <br /> <br />The subject property is designated by the Land Use Element of the Pleasanton <br />General Plan for Business Park land uses. The proposed office uses conform to <br />this land use designation. The overall floor area ratio for the proposed project <br />
