CITY ENGINEER SIGNATURE BLOCK: The following signature block shall be depicted <br />on the first sheet of the plans submitted for construction: “Approval of these plans is for <br />work within the street right-of-way and public utility systems within Public Services <br />Easements unless otherwise noted. Approval of these plans does not release the <br />developer from the responsibility for the correction of mistakes, errors, or omissions <br />contained therein. If, during the course of construction of the improvements, public <br />interest requires a modification or a departure from the specifications and details of the <br />City of Pleasanton or these plans, the City Engineer shall have the authority to require <br />such modification or departure and to specify the manner in which th e same is to be <br />made. Approved as to design only based upon information submitted hereon this [DAY] <br />of [MONTH], [YEAR]. [NAME PROVIDED BY CITY], P.E., City Engineer, [DATE]. <br />(Address this condition prior to improvement plan approval) <br /> <br />64. DESIGN PER CITY STANDARDS: All public improvements shall be designed in <br />conformance with applicable provisions of the City of Pleasanton Municipal Code, <br />applicable provisions of the City’s adopted Standard Specifications and Details, and as <br />set forth in the Project Plans. Said standards are available for download on the City’s <br />website. (Address this condition prior to improvement plan approval) <br /> <br />65. ROADWAY DESIGN STANDARDS: All roads constructed or improved by the applicant <br />shall conform to the applicable design standards contained in Pleasanton Municipal Code <br />Chapter 19.36 and as set forth in the Project Plans. For standards not explicitly described <br />in the Code, the following State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) <br />standards shall be followed: Highway Design Manual, and the California Manual on <br />Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD), latest editions. The City also references <br />design standards from “A Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets” (latest <br />edition) as published by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation <br />Officials (AASHTO). Any deviations from the standards set forth in the Project Plans <br />shall be approved by the City Engineer. (Address this condition prior to improvement plan <br />approval) <br /> <br />66. HOT-MIX ASPHALT PAVEMENT DESIGN STANDARDS: Public roadways and parking <br />lots shall be surfaced with hot-mix asphalt (HMA) as designed according to Chapter 630 <br />“Flexible Pavement” of the Caltrans Highway Design Manual and as set forth in the <br />Project Plans, unless otherwise approved by the City Engineer. The following minimum <br />standards shall apply to the design: <br />i) Minimum design life = 20 years <br />ii) R-value of the underlying soil shall be R = 5 minimum. A higher R-value will be <br />allowed only through analytic testing by a licensed geotechnical engineer or <br />engineering geologist. <br />iii) Asphalt Binder classification shall be PG 64-10. <br />iv) Minimum Traffic Index (TI) shall be as follows. A lower TI will be considered only <br />when justified by analytic calculations performed by a licensed civil or traffic engineer <br />according to the Caltrans Highway Design Manual Chapter 613. <br />(1) Public parking lot: TImin = 4.5 <br />(2) Local Street: TImin = 5.0 <br />(3) Residential collector street: TImin = 6.0 <br />(4) Collector street: TImin = 7.0 <br />Docusign Envelope ID: 2B93F64A-C49E-4C2A-BF54-785F6FDA6546
