Council approve the proposed schematic design, bidding could likely occur in the latter part of
2005. Costs for yearly operations/maintenance will be determined based on the final approved
design.

RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Council:

1. Receive the planning process status update contained in this report.
2. Provide input to staff with regard to the primary elements of the five Phase II site plan
alternatives (land uses, site location, parking, vehicular access, noise, and views) that
the Council would like to integrate into the upcoming Unified Concept Plan.
3. Direct staff to forward the resulting Unified Concept Plans to the Civic Arts, Youth,
Parks and Recreation, and Planning commissions for comments prior to returning to
the Council for further direction.
4. Review the schematic design and project estimate documents, suggest any revisions,
and authorize staff to negotiate a contract for development of actual construction
documents with M.D. Fotheringham, Inc.

Respectfully Submitted,

Je~y IsersonC~
Director of Planning and
Community Development

James W.
