b) Architecture <br />(1) House designs should be limited to traditional architectural <br />styles and forms adjusted to conform to the natural <br />character of the site. <br />(2) Architectural design should emphasize the blending of <br />buildings into the natural surroundings and minimizing <br />building visibility from off-site areas . <br />(3) Roof forms and roof lines should be broken by a series of <br />levels and planes to reflect the irregular forms of the <br />surrounding natural features. Except for home sites on <br />existing flat grade , long linear unbroken roof lines are <br />inappropriate . <br />(4) Medium to dark earthtone building colors shall be used to <br />complement the surrounding natural setting . Darker colors <br />will generally be less conspicuous when viewed from a <br />distance. White, tan, light gray, blue , and yellow are <br />inappropriate building base colors . <br />c) Landscaping <br />(1) Views of hillside homes from off-site areas which cannot <br />be screened by way of location and architectural design <br />should be substantially screened by use of evergreen tree <br />planting. <br />4) Specific Low Density Residential District Design Guidelines <br />The following specific design guidelines shall apply to the Low Density <br />Residential District: <br />a) Architecture <br />(1) House designs should be limited to traditional architectural <br />styles and forms, adjusted to conform to the natural <br />character of the site. <br />(2) Medium to dark earthtone building colors shall be used to <br />complement the surrounding natural setting .
