60 | CITY OF PLEASANTON URBAN FOREST MASTER PLAN <br />THE PLAN <br />GUIDING PRINCIPLE 2: <br />A community invested in preserving and growing the Urban Forest <br />GOAL Action No.Action TIME FRAME <br />2.1— By 2035, <br />engage at least <br />50% of residents <br />through outreach <br />and informational <br />efforts on the City’s <br />UFMP and updated <br />Tree Preservation <br />Ordinance that is <br />representative of all <br />residential types and <br />demographics within <br />the City. <br />2.1A Host a table with information about the benefits of the City's Urban <br />Forest at an Arbor Day or Earth Day each year. Inform residents <br />how they can get involved in the Urban Forest. <br />Ongoing / Annually <br />2.1B Maintain an information webpage for education on the City's <br />trees, and host urban forest data like canopy cover, tree inventory <br />statistics, current legislation and annual trees planted and removed. <br />Ongoing / Annually <br />2.1C Develop guidelines and educational materials for planting and <br />siting of trees to sequester carbon and highlight other benefits like <br />reduced energy costs in support of the Climate Action Plan 2.0. <br />Short (5 years) <br />2.1D Host 3 workshops over the next 5 years to inform and educate <br />residents on the updated Tree Preservation Ordinance with a <br />target reach at least 1,000 people. <br />Short (5 years) <br />2.1E Provide educational information to commercial property owners <br />on the benefits of trees for businesses to encourage commercial <br />property owners to plant and maintain trees. <br />Short (5 years) <br />2.1F Create a map that identifies the Heritage trees throughout the <br />City. <br />Medium <br />(10 to 15 years) <br />Table 3-3.
