CITY OF PLEASANTON URBAN FOREST MASTER PLAN | 59 <br />THE PLAN <br />GUIDING PRINCIPLE 1: <br />A Resilient Community <br />GOAL Action No.Action TIME FRAME <br />1.3 - Maintain and <br />grow a healthy <br />and diverse urban <br />forest to bring the <br />canopy cover in each <br />neighborhood to 25% <br />by 2049. <br />1.3A Annually plant 40 to 50 trees (in addition to planting <br />replacement trees for any removals) on city-owned land and <br />right of way. <br />Ongoing / Annually <br />1.3B Provide a three-year establishment care period for all newly <br />planted trees.Ongoing / Annually <br />1.3C <br />Prioritize City tree planting and establishment care resources <br />to neighborhoods with the lowest canopy cover and highest <br />tree priority planting index scores as established in the UFMP. <br />Achieve 25% canopy cover in all Pleasanton neighborhoods by <br />2049. <br />Long (25 years) <br />1.3D <br />Fill at least 1,100 of the 4,000 City-managed vacant tree <br />planting sites to create more tree-lined streets throughout <br />Pleasanton by 2049.
